The primary mission and focus of the CICL is to provide high-quality quantitative and qualitative cardiovascular image analysis for academically important and scientifically valid research investigations.
Scott D. Solomon, MD serves as Director of the CICL and is Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Non-Invasive Cardiac Laboratory at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Solomon and the CICL have focused on the non-invasive assessment of cardiac structure and function in patients with or at risk for heart failure or ischemic heart disease and the effects of interventions on attenuating left ventricular remodeling and dysfunction. He has published over 150 scientific papers, chapters, reviews, and editorials; written Essential Echocardiography and Atlas of Echocardiography; and has coauthored the Guidelines for Chamber Quantification, Guidelines for Right Ventricular Assessment, and Guidelines for Echocardiography in Clinical Trials for the American Society of Echocardiography. Dr. Solomon serves as an Associate Editor for the American Heart Association journal Circulation and is a world-renowned clinical trialist who maintains an active leadership role for numerous multi-center clinical trials.
